About NatureWorks

We provide long-term ecological stewardship rooted in botanical precision and disciplined care.

We begin with the plants. Every decision, from invasive species control to prescribed fire, is guided by careful observation and accurate identification of the species present. Stewardship without that foundation becomes approximation.

Our Standard

NatureWorks was founded by trained field botanists wanting to use their knowledge to leave a positive impact on the land. That training continues to shape the way we work.

Emmet J. Judziewicz, co-author of Wildflowers of Wisconsin and Field Guide to Wisconsin Grasses, described our founders as:

“Some of the finest field botanists working in Wisconsin today… the finest independent plant biology consultants that I know of working in the state.”

Botanical rigor is not a marketing point. It is the internal standard under which we operate.

Every member of our team is trained to work carefully in high-quality natural areas. Species are identified. Subtle changes are noticed. Management is deliberate. Ecological integrity is prioritized over speed or appearance.

Stewardship as Relationship

We work with a limited number of private landowners who are committed to the long-term ecological character of their properties.

High-quality landscapes require consistency and continuity. For this reason, we intentionally limit the number of properties we steward each year. This allows us to remain closely involved, to know each landscape intimately, and to make decisions with context and care.

Our work is best suited for landowners who see their property not as a short-term project, but as something to be safeguarded and improved over time, whether for their own lifetime or for those who will follow.

If you are seeking steady, long-term stewardship grounded in botanical understanding, we welcome a conversation.
